Rowynn Cuteness

He does this ALL the time!
Huh?!
Such a happy boy

Here lately Rowynn is trying SO hard to crawl it may not be too much longer before I'm posting video of him crawling around! Also, I think he is getting in his two bottom teeth. I'm pretty sure that one has for sure broken the skin and I don't think it will be long for the other to follow!

It is SO amazing to hit milestones we were not able to hit with Abigayl. I love every moment with him.

New Fav Website!!

I am SO excited!!! A friend of mine just gave me the website (www.skinnytaste.com) which features a TON of recipes that are already broken down into the points system!

I think this website will be my new best friend. I'm sad to say that I probably won't be able to make very many PW (www.thepioneerwoman.com) recipes since hers are not as "skinny" conscious.

Hello Wednesday, we meet again!

I have completed two weeks on Weight Watchers and have lost a total of...........

FOUR pounds!

That is right, this week I lost a whopping one pound. That puts my current weight at 166. The scarcity of a smaller number on the scale is my own fault. I will own the lack of more weight loss since I didn't make a lot of wise choices this week. I can pinpoint my bad choices: soda, hamburger, onion rings, ice cream and desserts. I know that I will not make these same choices next week!

Though, I'm proud to say that I have worked out Monday-Wednesday and my goal for the duration of my WW journey is to work out 5 days a week. The workout DVDs I use are all Jillian Michaels. I use her 30 Day Shred, Boost Metabolism Banish Fat and No More Trouble Zones. If I do the 30 Day Shred, I also get on the elliptical machine for 20-25 minutes. That puts all of my workouts at 45-50 minutes.

I hope to make up for a lack of larger loss this week by killing the scale next week!! I'm ready to SEE a change.

Crawling?

Maybe soon!!

Last night Rowynn actually got up on all fours, TWICE!!! I know this could or could not mean a thing but for me it is exhilarating.

As for now he uses rolling as his means of transportation. If he wants a toy, he figures out which way he needs to roll and will roll multiple times to retrieve the desired item. SO CUTE!!!

Last Minute...

Friday night Rusty and I decided to take an adventure Saturday. Our original plan that night was to head to Arbuckle Wilderness, where the animals can walk up to your car and you can hand feed buffalo, giraffes and other animals.

Since our "early" start ended up being at 10, we decided to head to Norman and go to the Oklahoma Museum of Natural History.
Rowynn's ready to go...
He was happy that he didn't have to "fly" the whole way ;-)
So we loaded up our handsome boy and headed toward OKC. Rusty had heard about a place called Pop's on historic Route 66 and we decided to make a detour from the highway to check it out.
Inside of Pop's you can get ANY kind of soda your taste buds desire. It was pretty neat to see all the different kinds. We both ended up choosing cream soda but from different places.
While Rusty fed Rowynn in the car, I decided to go back in to get a better variety to bring home. I ended up with blood orange soda, orange cream soda, huckleberry soda, root beer, wild cherry soda and wild strawberry.
The really cool part is that all of the sodas that we chose were all from different states! Rowynn decided he would try to take a taste of my cream soda. Poor guy only got a mouth full of bottle!
After our stop at Pop's, we went to Saltgrass Steakhouse in Norman. Saltgrass is one of our FAVORITE steakhouses and we used to only be able to eat there when we were in Texas. Finally, after many comment cards, they built one in Oklahoma. Sadly, we have to drive 2.5 hours to get there.
We then headed to the museum to walk around in an air conditioned building. The museum had some interesting facts. I liked that their feature exhibit was ALL about chocolate!!
After our tour of the museum, Rusty showed me around the University of Oklahoma campus. What I really liked looking at were the sorority and frat houses. Some of those houses were BEAUTIFUL, large houses. I learned that I may encourage my kids to join when they go to college. It was a perfect day with my two boys and I can't wait to go on our next adventure!

Rowynn Time

I know I said I would do better about posting last week, sorry, my computer crashed with a virus, again.

So, here are some of the pictures I took last week.....
I rarely get in the pictures with Rowynn and it made me feel bad because I took so many with Abigayl. I put my body issues aside and jumped in.
Playing with his toys with daddy by his side. Oh look, Rowynn gave daddy a present... spit-up on the leg!
Our sweet boy.

Weight Watcher Wednesday

All right. Here on R and R, I am going to start a new thing. Every Wednesday I am going to tell you my weight.

You can't see it but I am a wreck! I am going to share with you my most personal number on earth!! I am having a mini-coronary as I type this. But, I feel that if I want to stick with my goals I have to be held accountable.

I started Weight Watchers Online on the August 9Th and decided that Wednesdays would be my weigh in day. Seeing that there are no meetings to hold me accountable, I decided to put that in the hands of my readers. Plus, knowing that I have to put my weight on the Internet, which is a public place that anyone from anywhere can come read, I would pretty much try my hardest to lose at least on pound per week!!

So far I have enjoyed the process. Most "diets" tell you what you CAN'T have but on weight watchers I have truly been able to eat what I love and still lose weight. This week I have had pizza, ice cream (twice!), potatoes and anything else I want. The difference, I make SMARTER decisions about what I put in my mouth.

So, here goes nothing.

My starting weight on the 9Th was 170 lbs. and today, the 18Th, I have lost 3 lbs. putting me at 167 lbs. My ultimate goal is to get down to 145-150 by February 2011 (that's when Rowynn turns one and when we start the trying to get pregnant process all over again!). My short term goal (because it is much easier to obtain right away) is to get to 161.5 lbs, that would be 5% of my weight. As I reach my short term goals, I will set new ones.

I know that many of you reading this are MUCH smaller than me. Please don't judge. I have had two kids AND recently got off of a 5 month stint on steroids. Yes, I ballooned. Yes, I have a long ways to go. I know that with determination (and support) I will reach my goal!

See you next Wednesday!

Not Much..

Sorry for being such a stranger, there just isn't much going on around the Stamper household.

Poor Rowynn caught his first cold. I'm not really enjoying that but I'm sure he isn't either. This cold has made him SUPER fussy which makes mommy SUPER grumpy. Especially since I've been sick too. We are not a very good pair right now.
Even though he has been on the sick side, he is still my good, albeit messy, eater. Hopefully we will have some outings this week. The weather is supposed to be cooler (low to mid 90's) this week, which may lead to some walks in the park!

I will try to do better at taking a few more pictures this week.

Son Kissed Photography... 3 months

Here are a "few" of Rowynn's three month session with Kristen Mackey at Son Kissed Photography. Once again, she exceeded my expectations! I know I have a cute son (modest, right?!) but when I look at her pictures I feel like I am looking at a magazine!
What's amazing about this shot is that he was crying the whole time he was in his OU outfit!
What did you say?!
You gotta be kidding me. We have this in a 16x20 in our entry I love this... it's like he's talking to God and his sister. I think he was whistling show tunes! So much to ponder at 3 months Only thing missing is the remote!

Six Month Check-Up

Rowynn had his six month check-up today and was healthy, healthy! He measured 28 1/4 inches (100%) and weighed in at 19 pounds 9 ounces (75%).

I know it doesn't look like it but I have lost 4 lbs and a total of 7 1/2 inches! I'm working at it!

Dr Seuss 2010

I read this on a friends Facebook status and had to share!

I do not like this uncle Sam,
I do not like his health care scam.
I do not like these dirty crooks,
or how they lie and cook the books.
I do not like when Congress steals,
I do not like their secret deals.
I do not like this speaker, Nan.
I do not like this "YES WE CAN".
I do not like this spending spree,
I'm smart, I know that nothings free.
I do not like this kind of hope.
I do not like it nope, nope, NOPE!
I do not like your smug replies
When I complain about your lies.
So for the future make a note:
I do intend to vote, vote, VOTE!!

Picture Time ;-)

Seeing that Rowynn is SIX MONTHS! I thought it only right that I take some pictures today.
In the last few days he has figured out how to push the Poo Bear down to make it sing!
I know he is my own but goodness he's cute!!! ;-)
Full of smiles....
and raspberries! I tell you, this kid spits as much as he drools!
So innocent.... right!

Six Months!!

Today marks Rowynn's six month birthday! I am so excited to reach this milestone. Over the past six months we have experienced a lot of emotions but I think that we have reached a point where we are more comfortable than anything else.

I know that starting off I was very anxious, watchful and hyper-alert about every noise or lack of noise. Now, I spend less time hovering over his monitor to watch for breathing and more time getting things done.

Rowynn is loving his solids! I think his favorites are sweet potatoes and carrots. I love having a veggie lover!! He is not so keen on the green veggies but I'm hoping that will change over time.

Little man has really been "trying" to crawl. He tends to get up in a push-up position and then tries to figure out the whole leg situation. Hopefully he will be moving and shaking pretty soon. I'm looking forward to having him to chase around the house.

Rowynn has decided he doesn't need to talk anymore. He communicates by blowing raspberries and spitting all over! It is pretty funny except when he decides to do it with food in his mouth!

He still is working on the sitting up thing. We practice all the time but he still isn't stable for very long without support of a pillow. He does like to play with his toys while supported by the boppy. Though he does start to get frustrated with them!

I feel like I've been saying it for months now but I think he may be teething. He is a drooling mess! I keep watching for a sign other than the drooling but so far LOTS of drool is what we get. I won't rush the teething thing because I'm not ready to regress back to newborn sleep patterns! I have grown accustom to my full nights sleep and am not looking forward to giving that up!

I Said I Wouldn't Do It.....

While pregnant with Abigayl, I vowed that I wouldn't let my kids have sweets until they were one. Well, I never cheated with Abigayl and felt like a missed out with her.

Rowynn on the other hand has had little nibbles of frosting, ice cream, snow cones and countless other sweets.

Last night I let him go at my Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich. I think he may have liked it:
I LOVE my little man (and my sweet hubby)! I think my little man loves ice cream as much as his mommy and daddy!!

Sleepy Boy

This is how we found Rowynn sleeping the other night!
All curled in a corner with his seahorse! He LOVES his seahorse.

Push-ups

Rowynn has really been getting his push-ups in each day! Since these photos, he has been bringing his leg up like he is trying to crawl.

Last night he got into the crawl position and scooted backwards!! He can turn in circles really well by pulling himself around. I just can't believe we are getting closer to getting to watch our little man crawl!

Cute Hiney

The other night Rowynn kept putting his head on Rusty's shoulder and then pushing his little tushy out. It was pretty stinkin' cute! I tried my best to get a picture but I didn't ever really catch him.
But, it is a cute bum anyway!

Fender Bender

Well, Rowynn has now been in his first car accident. Thankfully it was just a small fender bender. A lady rear ended me while I was stopped at a light. She said her "foot cramped up". I kind of think she may have been texting and rolled forward.

Oh well... the only thing that matters is that my little man is okay and so am I. I am not looking forward to having to deal with all the insurance hassle tomorrow (and the days to follow) but it is better to get it over with so we can have the truck looking good.
